Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Forklift Operator to join our industrial bag manufacturing team in St Louis, MO. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating forklifts to move, locate, stack, and count raw materials, finished products, and other manufacturing supplies. The operator will also assist with maintaining equipment and ensuring a safe and efficient workflow within the facility.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate forklifts to transport large industrial bags, raw materials, and supplies across the production floor.

• Load and unload materials from trucks while ensuring accurate placement and secure handling.

• Inspect forklifts daily for mechanical issues and perform routine maintenance checks.

• Move finished products to designated storage areas or prepare for shipment.

• Follow proper handling procedures to prevent damage to materials and ensure workplace safety.

• Assist with maintaining inventory accuracy by logging material movements and verifying stock levels.

• Collaborate with production and warehouse teams to ensure timely delivery of materials and products.

• Adhere to safety guidelines and OSHA regulations within a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications and Skills

Experience: Proven experience as a forklift operator, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting. Certification: Valid forklift operator certification is required.

Skills:

• Familiarity with moving large or bulky materials safely and efficiently.

• The ability to operate forklifts in tight or confined spaces is common in manufacturing environments.

• Basic understanding of warehouse and inventory management systems.

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift and move heavy materials (up to 50 lbs) regularly.

• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, industrial manufacturing environment with exposure to machinery noise and dust.

• Ability to work extended hours or shifts as needed.
